Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 08:59PM Two days before Christmas, I met with the Collins family for a family session while both their kids were home! It was a pleasure to work with them and we got some fun shots! Don't forget to check out the highlight slideshow below the pic! Hope everyone had a fantastic winter break + [much needed] Holiday!

Monday, December 19, 2011 at 01:00AM Had an amazing family session with my old friend Rachel and her darling little family a few weeks ago in Georgetown. I have known Rach since she hired me to cover her high-end event planning company's launch party held at K-Street Lounge in DC a few years back (2008 if your really curious). She runs Jolie-Fete - check it out if you need a party planner extraordinaire!
I feel honored to capture Chloe + Lucy; R+J's wiggly, full of energy, alert little girls who were in the cutest matching floral jumpers. R definitely knows how to dress to impress! I love when little siblings match, especially sisters.
Hope everyone had a safe weekend [and by safe, I mean no one hit your car while you were fighting for that last parking spot at the mall...gotta get in those last minute gifts!] before Christmas!
Here's a little sneak peak that I'm obsessed with... mommy&daughter... but be sure to check out the slideshow at the bottom!

Did a shoot the other day for a family who was moving and wanted to incorporate their cross-country move with their holiday card...and of course their darling baby, Hallie! She was so alert and loved those christmas lights! I just adore this shot...
Check out the rest of their family session here.

Grateful for:
[in no particular order]
my loving & supportive hubby
living close to my parents and brother
our beautiful place that we own
the best summer of my life traveling with scott
personal health + families health
awesome camera equipment that allows me to do what I love
my business partner Elliott
launching our new company Sarah Elliott Events (SEE) exclusively to shoot weddings & corporate parties
Coco Chanel, my furry BFF
straight teeth-- thank you invisiline
the small & simple joys in life
the gospel
the iPhone app "Maps" for getting me reliable turn-by-turn directions [used daily]
soy- since I am lactose intolerant
amazing clients who have become my closest friends
I had a wonderful holiday and spent it cooking alongside my mom learning her technique in the kitchen while making brown-sugar yam recipe, made homemade cranberry-pecan chutney, and the creamiest mash potatoes ever...and a zillion other recipes! Scott is the best cook & this year he went out and bought a huge roasting-pumpkin [if he had sent me I would have come back with a old halloween pumpkin off someones porch... apparently there are over 130 different types of pumpkin and only a few that you can cook with!?] Scott pureed it from scratch. Needless to say, it was the most unbelievable pumpkin pie with a flaky crust, vanilla-bean whip cream topping...he is my man for so many reasons. :)
This post is a little late but I wanted to share my grateful for list because my life is so enriched by so many blessings. I always think of that hymn: "Count Your Many Blessings...Name them one by one.." [don't worry.. there will be no singning here.. I was not blessed with a beautiful voice! Ha].
What were some of the things on your Grateful for list this year?

Chloe. Age 2 1/2 years old. She was a delight to photograph over Thanksgiving break along with her little sister and parents! More photos coming but for now.. Enjoy! :)
